Air pressure gauges

I have a nice little dial gauge that I use on the front but the pencil type reaches the rear tire better. Then I used the pencil gauge on the front for the hell of it it was like 4-5 lbs difference then the dial. hummm, which is correct? what do you people use?

Air pressure gauges

I have a dial I use for both, just gotta get on the old hands and knees. Never compared it, so I can't tell you which to believe. They may both be off.

Air pressure gauges

That it sooo common - I have three gauges: a pencil one, a digital one from "Slime" and the one on the Slime Air Compressor. The pencil and the digital are within 1 psi, the one on the compressor show too much pressure by 2-3 psi. If I had to put money on it, I would believe the good old pencil one over the others. I take at least two measurements no matter what gauge I'm using; if it's not seated exactly on the valve, they all will be off.

I have a "service station" style gauge built into the air chuck I connect to my compressor. I also have a long trucker type air gauge. I've never compared the two. Maybe I should?

Air pressure gauges

I have the big dial with a hose and a pressure release valve on it from Harbor Freight. I can hear when it's seated and then I read the dial. I release the pressure and move to the next tire.

Air pressure gauges

I have a pencil gauge a digital guage and the guage on my progressive air pump. None of them read the same. I just go by the progressive gauge as it cost the most money

I'm sure there is such animal but .. how much would it cost? 80 bucks? 200 bucks? Just to find out your $3 one is 1 psi off?

Air pressure gauges

I have about 4-5 air gauges, only two of them read the same. I dont trust the cheaper ones, sometimes they will read a different pressure each time you use it. I have one built into the air chuck as well and it seems to be fairly accurate.

If it was under $40.00 and not digital, do not trust it !

Air pressure gauges

I went to our NAPA store here in town and told them I wanted the most accurate digital tire gauge they had, and I wanted it specifically for motorcycles. So far I've been satisfied checking it against other ones.

got 3 different style gauges and can get 3 different readings, dont trust cheap gauges like $2 pencil stixs, I seem to get the easiest and most accurate readings from a truck gauge. Long and easy to fit on both tires.
