hackers

Got the following message via email (thanks to the forum for preventing the login and notifying me). IP address traced to Chile.

Dear twellens,

Someone has tried to log into your account on Vulcan Bagger Forums with an incorrect password at least 5 times. This person has been prevented from attempting to login to your account for the next 15 minutes.

The person trying to log into your account had the following IP address: 186.67.116.138

Yea it's common for spambots to try that. It usually never works for them. I wouldn't worry about it much, but changing your password every now & then is a good idea anyway.

I'm sure there's a way to do it through your browser, but on a unix system I use the "whois" command. It looks like it's from China, which wouldn't surprise me one bit.

Redjay - I just typed it into google. There's probably a more sophisticated way.

182.140.132.108 was the IP address that was trying to get into my account.
