Texas- Xmas 2011

:) I know it is aways off, but my wife and I were asked by a Harley couple( ) if we wanted to trailer our bike to Brownsville, Texas this coming Christmas break. We've never been to Texas, so would appreciate any info on good riding in that area and what is a must see. Probably be there a short week if we go. Thanks in advance for any help given.

Should stop around Kerrville, see Fredericks burg, ride the 3's, at least 337, ride 39. See lost maples and the motorcycle museum. All this can be done in one full day, without rushing it. WEAR your sunscreen! Have a ball.

No trip to Texas would be complete without a trip to Luckenbach. Paul has some good suggestions. The areas in and around Leakey and Fredricksburg are good riding places. The area is motorcycle friendly too. We like Corpus Christi too. There is the museum of science and history, the beach (Padre & Mustang Islands), tours on the USS Lexington and Texas State Aquarium. Port Aransas is good place to spend the day too. The Alamo and Riverwalk in San Antonio are usually must see for visitors.

Isn't Brownsville down on the Mexican border? From there there aren't many close sights. Kerrville, Fredericksburg and Luckenbach are great sites and some great riding, but that would be quite a distance to ride. When you are in Brownsville you are surrounded by Mexico almost.

Coming down from Iowa he would be passing right through those areas on the way to Brownsville.
