A very good experience there.

Installed some Kicker speakers for the time being, as the speakers I eventually want were not available locally. I want to physically hold them in hand prior to buying to make sure they fit. I absolutely hate ordering something mail order and then having to return. These Kickers, regardless of being a lesser quality of the speakers I want, sound far better than the 5.25 I had in there before.

Second picture is what 6.5 speakers look like installed
Hopefully I can find you in the crowd on Saturday. I would like to hear how it sounds. Should not be hard to spot the green Vaq among all the black Harleys..lol

If not to much trouble, can someone comment on how to get these adapters? Can't seem to find it anywhere. Thanks in advance.

How do you like the results from the Power Pucks? How was actual installation and is it worth it, or are you gonna go with a standard amp?

I tried an amp and went back to the pucks, sound is good and the nice thing is they can be programmed individually to each speaker. Pricey yes but no more than a top of the line amp. I look at music as a blessing especially on the long trips, a lot of people don't like it, but it really does get boring when you are slabbing it from Ottawa to South Carolina. Istallation of the pucks is simple but they are not made for speakers with the large magnets, only for the oem speakers with those dinky magnets on the back. There is lots of room in the front speaker housing on the Voyager but for the rear I had to mount the pucks in the trunk and run longer wires.

Capt. I'm looking at JLAudio marine grade speakers. I'm running a JLAudio subwoofer in one of my bags. I've had JL equipment before (PA speakers) and they make a very good product. Also looking at some LED backlit marine speakers made by a company named WetSounds. They specialize in marine grade audio. Still undecided between the two. They cost about the same ($200 for pair)

You guys that already installed the adapters with 6.5 inch speakers, did you remove the black plastic cones since most of the 6.5s I have looked at are what are referred to as "Free Air" speakers. 6.5 inch speakers are rarely in an enclosure. Looking to not make the mistakes others have made in order to avoid tuning headaches. Thanks.

Rapters!

Ohio Voyager, I mean what I say, and I say what I mean!..lol BTW KenV, although I kept the plastic cone baffles in the speaker wells, I did it more cause the Kickers I installed are not the best of speakers. The speakers I eventually want to go with are Marine grade and do not require an enclosure. SO those cones are coming out.

Ken
By plastic cones are your referring to the housing the stock ones sit it? why would it make a lot of difference as most speakers are in enclosures when you buy them.

Ray,

They are Infinity 612m marine speakers. I haven't found them in anything except the blue with the integrated chrome grilles. Someone on the Vaquero FB page put them on his orange Vaq and they actually look great - they "pop" really nice!

I didn't think they would look good on anything except a blue bike but I was wrong in that case.

Randy
