Take a peek at the OPs pics Gypsy. They mount outside the fairing but have a nice design so they look ornamental. I believe they can be painted as well.

Gypsy,

Brucer posted pics in the first thread. He has his mounted on a Vaquero. I have mine mounted to my Voyager. My embarrassingly dirty Voyagers, geez!!

They are universal and can fit several different models of speakers. They are designed to replace the factory speakers and grilles. They fit perfectly in place of the grille using OEM hardward. No cutting of the fairing or wires is necessary (though Kawasaki spared no copper and the wires 'just' reach, lol)!! The fairing does not need to be removed (unless you add an amp) and they can be installed in minutes.

Here's more pics:

OhioVoyager, thank you so much for those pics. That is a great design! I may get a pair and actually do some stereo upgrades...even though I can;t hear anything over my FP exhaust and built motor...

If you throw in an amp and 6.5 inch speakers you will have no problem hearing the audio even with your pipes and a full face helmet.

That is my Xmas present to me. I will be etting the Alpine KTP-445U. Likely the Polk DB521 speakers. I am not sure how feel about the 6.5 adapters yet. They appear quality made but I like the stock grills.

I like the stock grills better as well. But I tried 5 different speakers and found the stock ones to work just as good as the others. I was not impressed with the 5 1/4" speaker replacements. I feel 6.5 speakers should be a good compromise all around.

6.5 Adapters

Well here they are. This is what they look like on a green Vaq. I'm very impressed with the design and build of this item. Randy kept me informed of when he was going to build, down to when it shipped. Provided tracking # and all! Answered the numerous emails I had regarding various speakers for fit. A very good experience there.

Installed some Kicker speakers for the time being, as the speakers I eventually want were not available locally. I want to physically hold them in hand prior to buying to make sure they fit. I absolutely hate ordering something mail order and then having to return. These Kickers, regardless of being a lesser quality of the speakers I want, sound far better than the 5.25 I had in there before.

Not sure which speaker you wanted. I just installed kicker marine speakers. They are not to bad. I still need to balance out the amp.

Got mine today and mounted the kicker speakers tonight, took about 30 minutes total for both sides, I have power pucks also and lots of room inside the housing for those, I like the look and the sound is a lot better to my ears than the the 5 1/4 speakers I had on before, I just have to hook up the blue LED lights in the speakers and i am done, Looks good and angles the speakers in toward the rider so I will see if that makes the sound better as I have not ridden yet since installing. I will try to get pics tomorrow and post. You also do not need to glue the two halves of the speaker mounts together, mine are rock solid after installing and they fit perfectly.
