I am glad I went with the Vance & Hines I just went for ride and these are even not loud enough for me. They are really deep not loud. I guess I need to look for baffles to get the correct sound I want

I am guessing there are louder baffles for this brand I will just have to go look for them.

Got 'em on!

Well it was a sunny 38 degrees today, so off I went to install the Tri Ovals . . . Install was simple, with the exception of needing a gasket on one pipe (left) but fortunately my kawi dealer was open and gave me a good price on one . . .

I got them on and took her for about a 35 mile ride . . . I LOVE THEM! Yeah there's a little blurpling if I let off the gas abruptly, but I was used to that on my Sabre . . . A very nice rumble that increases nicely in direct proportion to the application of the right wrist . . . Not sure yet if the seat of the pants meter was excitedly telling me "it sounds better so must be running better!" or if it actually was a little more responsive . . . But they look, sound and feels great! Reset my MPG guestimator ao we will see what, if any, effect these have on overall mpgs . . .

I am happy with them so far!

I went the V&H route, put 'em on this past week and love 'em. Rode about 200 miles Saturday and no issues at all. Was able to reuse the gaskets, and the job only took about 2 hours. I've got Chuckster's air kit, Cobra Power Pro, and the V&H twin-slash rounds. Looks, sounds, runs great. Even Wifey likes it!

I wish V&H made Monster wide ovals for the Vaquero/Voyager.I am debating ordering a set for a HD tourer and mod the install.

If you mod the wide ovals keep us posted on how it works out. I know some like quiet & some like loud and I think I am in the middle and I really think I am going to like the V&H sound the weather has only allowed about a 5 mile ride with them so far. To me it certainly seem to up the "bad attitude" factor of my bike if you know what I mean.

Put a few more miles on her today as it was in the upper 50's . . . Had my 140 lb son on the back for about a 60 mile loop through some nice back roads . . . The pipes sound great and she pulls fan-f'ing-tastic! I love the look, sound and feel of the Tri-Ovals - Riding solo tomorrow to get my haircut . . . 7 miles as the crow flies, I'll try to turn it into around 100 mile run . . .

Hate to hijack the thread, but has anyone put on pipe and seen a reductioin in fuel economy? I'm looking at the V&H s-2, because I hear they give you the largest gain. If anyone has these I'd love to hear your opinion and especially an audio clip!

On my vacation last year in Georgia I crossed I-75 going from west to east at the 16 mile point in the morning and stayed at a hotel off I-75 at the 136 mile point that nite, BUT it took me 305 miles of back-road riding to be 120 miles futher north!!

I just picked up a 2010 Nomad and am looking in to an exhaust for it. I am leaning towards the V&H because I liked the sound of them on the last Nomad 1600 I rode. For those of you who put on slip-ons, did you need to change the computer also? I have been reading up on them and truthfully am at a loss as to when you need to go to a programmer (exhaust, exhaust and intake, etc).

Other than the single sided exhaust, is there a way to get rid of the cats since several people seem to think they contribute to the heat issue?

Great site and thanks for the info.

John
