I don't think some of you understand how this works. All it does is open up the throttle with less turn. Nothing more. Nothing less. If you wanted to just twist your wrist a little quicker, you'd have the same results. There is absolutely no increase in power. Tapering it would just decrease the responsiveness slightly. If you wanted to start slower and gradually increase the rate that you twist the throttle, it would react the same way.

I think having a quality machined product that can be easily added or removed from home, without the need to replace, upgrade or mail-in your grips is an awesome option for anyone.

I have no problem with Ray charging whatever he thinks his work is worth
and people are willing to pay.
As Jared said this is just a quick turn throttle mod Ray didn't invent this
My dad simply stuck 2 small sloted head screws in to the cable guide and made my throttle a quick turn. He did that 30 years ago.

I fIrst developed this mod for My Vaquero in June 2011 and documented the results on my dyno.

RACNRAY

P.S...my mod also omes with complete instructions explaining proper disassembly/reassembly and proper throttle cable adjustment.
Ray,

Do you make this mod for the 1600 Nomad? My throttle response isn't crisp at all. I'm hoping this issue is resolved when I install the Baron's air kit, but if it's not, I'd be interested in this mod. Thanks.

Just got mine in the mail. Very quality part! Price including freight was good ( to Canada). Put it on this afternoon, bike throttle response seems better - can't take for ride as the back alley is full of snow!! Can't wait to try the new barnett diaphragm with the throttle mod!!! I think it was worth the money!

Thanks,
dshelly
I purchased this item and found it to be well made and exactly as advertised. Its a simple and elegant solution and makes the throttle a little easier to manage. It just adds more throttle with less turn. Add a throttle boss and you're all set.

The ring is aluminum and came with simple instructions and even included a tapping bit for the tiny little machine screws it uses. It takes longer to disassemble the throttle cluster housing than it takes to install the mod itself.

When disconnecting cables, make sure you remember which cable is which for re installation. I used a little piece of electrical tape on a cable end to mark one. BTW, go ahead and lube the throttle cables while you're in there.

This and the other myriad of little mods and tweaks is what makes the Nomad so fun to own. Always something to try. This is a great starter mod for new guys.

Has anyone installed dshelly's throttle mod kit using Kury ISO grips? Is the throttle tube the same as stock?

It should be the same diameter.
