Question Removable trunk mount for Vaquero

Since Kaw makes a quick release backrest and luggage rack for the Vaquero, anyone think that someone might come up with a quick release trunk mount using this hardware. Yeah, I know, if I wanted a trunk then I should have bought a Voyager! I might consider a removable trunk just for touring and keeping the bike clean for everyday riding. Any thoughts from you Vaquero riders?

From my understanding the voyages trunk come off in about 10 min. Is that not quick enough? ;)

It was my understanding that Kawasaki never intended to make a tourpak available for the Vaquero, which is why I didn't seriously consider buying one. I'd say don't hold your breath waiting.

He has a Vaquero, not a Voyager.

Sounds like he's trying to modify the QR Vaquero mount for a trunk.

I understand. If you haven't notice, there are a lot of similarities.

A Voyager trunk would look a lot better- fit and finish- than an after market with a rigged mount.

in reality, if you bought the QR mounting hardware and bought the sissybar that mounts to the QR brackets any machine shop would be able to easliy modify the sissybar to mount a trunk to.

$500 is always the magic number. I'm saving up $500 for the Black LED headlight - then have to customize the mounting to work in our fairings. BUT IT WILL BE AWESOME and so will the trunk!!

GIVI Trunk is quick disconnect

I installed a GIVI quick disconnect on my Vaquero. I added a passenger back rest. I really like it. Its light and holds two full face helmets. I made the mounts out of strap aluminum and picked up the saddle bags bolts and the antenna mount ( there is a like mount on the opposite side of the bag mounts).

Tim, I've looked around a bit, and VERY interested in more details about what GIVI parts you used and how you completed your project. As I understand, you have GIVI quick disconnect system? Or is it just a GIVI box adapted to the KQR system? Thanks

Robert, any recent influx of money to feed your project?
