Where are you putting the antenna for sirius radio?

I'm probably going to buy a sirius radio for the voyager and it will be the kind they sell for the car. Their really cheap right now $25.00! So has anyone found a good place for the magnetic antenna?

I have the factory add on XM radio and have mounted the antenna with Velcro right on top of the dash, works just fine there.
Good to see another rider from MA

Original factory mount is on top of the radio under the fairing. Later model mount is on top of the dash. My experience with under fairing was that i would occasionally lose the signal on the Kawi XM radio, so I mounted it to the top of the front brake master cylinder with double sided tape. Works great and blends well with the black master cylinder cover on my Vaquero.

Just ordered the unit from amazon for $27.77 with the complete vehicle hook up and 30 day trial. It's to cold now to try it out on the bike so I'll put it in the truck and test it. I'll try putting the antenna in hidden places like the glove box or under the dash just to see how the reception works in different spots. If i can hide it in the fairing of the bike that would be perfect but i'm having my doubts on that. It will be in next week.

Do you know if the factory handlebar controls will operate it?

No they will not just the volume as it will be connected through the 1/8 pin plug in the left side glove box the same as an mp3 player would be. The power comes from the 12 volt outlet on the right side. I already have a small ball mount in the center of the handle bars for the gps and all i have to do is adapt the radio to that and have an easy on/off set up.

I have a Ford Expedition, about a year and a half ago I upgraded the factory stereo to a Pioneer DVD unit and bought the add-on Sirius/XM receiver. I didn't want to mount the antenna on the roof, so I just have it sitting on the dash and it works great. I do occasionally hit a dead spot, but so does my wife's car with factory XM radio.
