Dave, that is to the eastern entrance. You have to go another 60 miles at 45 mph to get to the Valley.

It is 4 hrs seat time one way( Victory riders can do it in 1hr because their bikes can fly!) .

We would have to get going very early and it would be a long day.

Cliff,

I've never been there but I've always heard it's unbelievably busy with traffic and tourist. Is that true?

Not sure about Yosemite ,but there was a story on our local news a while back about the increase in tourist visiting Yellowstone from China. Said they expect that to go up by as much as 30% this summer. They are even having classes so people can learn Chinese to communicate with them. So my question is, why don't the Chinese learn English before they come here if they want to talk to us? I'd like to think that if I were going there, I'd try to pick up a few lines.

It can be. Alot of people come in on buses. It is best to avoid the weekends.
I have not gone in there with my motorcycle yet. But even in a car you have to be very alert when first driving into the Valley. The View will stop cars in the middle of the road, People will not pay attention and walk right into the road to take a picture. Once in the valley you can park and ride the free shuttle all around the valley.

You can also pay to take the 2hr tour of the Valley Floor.

Joel, that is a very nice ride for sure

Might I suggest one change though. Take the Donner Pass Road so you bypass about 17 miles of I-80 auto ant truck traffic.
This link below shows the change.
