fox news is reporting that crescent city could be hit by a 6 foot tsunami
wave.what are you west coast guy's hearing locally?

On the news this morning there were showing large waves hitting a bridge at Pacifia, CA just a few miles south of San Francisco. They were saying by the time the tsunami hits our west coast, it will have lost a lot of its oomph.

They are seeing larger waves but nothing significant. There are tsunami warnings for the north coast and the outer west coast of Vancouver Island but they aren't expecting anything that would cause damage.

That's what we have been hearing. The reports from Hawaii have been not as bad as expected/predicted.

So far the waves hitting the Washington coast are about the same as a good winter storm.

just heard a report on fox that there may have been four people swept
out to sea at crescent city.they are saying that the wave was eight feet
and that the harbor,docks and several homes have been damaged or
destroyed.

Crescent City got pounded. The docks are crushed....over 35 boats crushed....and lots of damage on the inner harbor. Bummer. We got off pretty easy up here on the Washington coast.

I just saw that. Three hurt and recovered but one still missing.

I was checking out the local angle on the SF Chronicle online. It said the Coast Guard had to chase surfers out of the water near Santa Cruz and Venice Beach.

I just got off the phone with the casino where we are holding the banquet. According to him, the damage is just in the harbour and not much else.
