2010 Rally Ride Ideas

Since it has been raining here for the last 16 hours I have been entertaining myself by map gazing.

I would like to know from those that are planning to attend the 2010 SouthCentral Group Rally if they would prefer doing two days of two one half day rides, about 100 miles each, retruning to Eureka Springs between the rides for lunch or doing more of a long ride, 200 miles, stopping for lunch somewhere on the route?

Or: Doing the two 1/2 days rides retruning to ES for lunch one day and then doing a long ride with lunch on the road the second day.

Also, if anyone has some special roads they would like to ride, or something special they would like to do or see let me know and I will try to work it into the rides. Or I will get you maps etc of where you would like to go and you can do so on your own.

Think of this as your rally/vacation! Get involved and let me know what you would like to do. I want to plan the rides so YOU get the most enjoyment out of them. If you don't want to post on the board send me a PM.

Jim, Are we going to cross into Missouri on any of the rides? I would like to and maybe ride up to Branson just to pass through. I've never been there.

There you go. Idea number 1. Keep it coming. Answer is; if enough wants to go to Branson we can do it. We could even ride up and see an afternoon show, ride the Ducks, go to Silver Dollar City, etc.

Jim, I like the longer all-day rides and eating somewhere along the way. Jamie

If your going to go near Branson, check out the University of the Ozarks just south of Branson. A great place for lunch. The University has a great history and is a free school for those willing to work. Check it out on line. Also the Great Passion Play is awesome.

Darlene and I had already talked about making the passion play. That probably is after dark correct?

Yes it's in the evening. They have some other things to see there too. Great Bible Museum.
Well worth seeing. Lin and I have been there several times.

I' m with Jamie, longer all-day rides. But, for me, you can leave out the lunch stop.

Lambert's is a good lunch stop for a Friday ride, gets crowded on the weekend. Lots of people like to see the Beaver bridge also.

Good Point!
Somehow I was thinking of the cookout on Saturday. Don't know where that came from.

Personally I enjoy having a choice of an early or late ride. I can pick an early or late ride depending on how late I party or the weather forecast. We did this in 2007 and it worked out great for me.
