I was at a dealer this weekend that had a few. They are unique.

Greg, how did you like the paddle shifting? How was it to back up? Looks like that would be hard to do.

It also doesn't have a lot of storage. Online it said something about 44L. That isn't much. Everything else was ok.

Check these guys out;

http://www.mysterydesigns.com/tiltster.php

Have an independent rear axle that allows the trike to tilt. I also like their Cobra body kit.

Glad you got to try one out Greg. I wouldn't mind giving one a try. No dealers within an hour of me though.

I have seen lots of them down here as well. I think they are unique. Haven't tried one out but I do want to.
I see them as a great option to a trike.
I wonder how they are with fuel mileage and touring comfort?

Dave... paddle-shifting was great. No hassles at all. You could either shift with or without backing-off the throttle. Backing up was not a hassle at all. In fact, it was very easy to do. So no hassles with that.

Ponch... storage is 41 U.S. Gals... not sure my Ultra has 41 gals of storage. They have a small trunk, two saddle-bags, and a storage area in the nose... so from what I can see, it is close to an Ultra's capacity, if not more.

Gas mileage is terrible on these things. From what I read; they get somewhere around 30 MPH... give or take a few miles. Some claim 36, while others claim less.

The price is steep on the touring models. I drove a RT-SE5 which lists for $26,995.

I thought the website said 44 litres.

Update:

Total storage capacity11.6 US gal. (44 l)

About 4 or 5 Can-Ams where in the campground with us while in Maggie Valley. Davidjones, Kawhead and I had a long conversation with one of the owners about the good and bad of the bikes. This guy has extensive motorcycle experience (raced AMA according to him) and was an engineer by trade. He really likes the bike but pointed out some of the things that have been changed and needed to be changed on future bikes.

He has altered the front tire size, gone bigger to get the difference in diameter between front and rear to less than 1%, changed the shocks on the front, altered the exhaust, changed the seat...many of the things that we do with our bikes. He had an 08, one of the first to be made. One thing that he said was that Bombardier listens to their owners when they say what needs to be improved. He talked to us for 45 minutes and I can't remember all the things but he was very pleased with the bike.

Folks have a look at this site under Carver Motorcycle - if the link does not come up, Google it. They call it a Carver Motorcycle / Car Hybrid. Looks like fun machine. Not a motorcycle though!! Ride safe.
