Which exhaust is quieter ?

Which slip on exhaust is quieter the Cobra Tri Ovals or the Vance & Hines Slash cut. I have the stock exhaust on my Vaquero with the 2 rear baffle plates removed. Looking for something more but don't want a radical change.(have to keep the passenger happy). I've ridden one with the Vance and Hines and was hoping the Cobra Tri Ovals may be a little quieter.

My buddy is running Vance & Hines slip on's with his Vaquero and I'm running Cobra slip on's on mine and Yes mine are much Quieter especially when just cruzing around. Go with the Cobra's!!.. Much better tone I also believe.

Thanks for your reply. Do you think performance is equal between the two?

performance would be better with the vance and hines at the expense of more noise.

[B][COLOR="Blue"]I had the Tri ovals on my 12 Nomad, and hated them. I replaced them with a set of Cobra Scallop tip slip ons. I love the very mellow sound when crusing, and a nice bark when I gas it. I think much better preformance than the Tri's, or V&H. My buddy has V&H on his Vaquero, and we both like the sound of my bike better, just a deeper sound.

I believe Vance & Hines will make slightly more power on the Dyno. Driving the bike you probably won't feel the difference.

I have the Vance and Hines 2-1 pro chrome pipe and it barks when you pull the throttle open wide, but is very tolerable at cruising speeds and makes great power with the Cobra FI2000R pro auto tuner and Big air billet kit from Roaring Toyz.

I have the same setup accept i have the tornado air kit. The pro pipe has a deep sound i like.. when cruising it feels so powerful and deep and no loud annoying soud just deep , ground shaking deep... its only real loud when i first start it up.. once warmed up, its not loud at all and still can listen to the stereo.. With the 2 into 1 pipe ,you maintain your back pressure and low end torque. I had the tri-ovals and i didnt care for it and it popped more.. not much back pressure and lower low end torque. just my experiance

if it's quiet and mellow you are looking for, don't even bother thinking about the Freedom Performance pipes. Not the duals, not the 2-1. I have the 2-1, and it is straight up loud. The sound is amazing, and the performance gains very obvious, but it is not a stealth bike anymore...

A brother of mine has a Voyager with the Cobras with the billet tip. They have a very beefy tone, and come to life when you crack the throttle, but are very mellow at cruising speed. None of that drone that starts to be annoying after 4 hours.

So, slip-ons or full duals? which makes the most since? I have Cobra Ture-Duals on my Nomad nad have always liked them. Going to need something for the Vaquero.Like the info here, but still want to know more.
