When it comes to extended warranties, mechanical breakdown plans or insurance in general, it all depends on how big a gambler you are. The policies have no value whatsoever (except for peace of mind) until the day you need to make a claim. And then you'll probably be pretty happy that you have it.

BTW, I make my living in the "extended warranty" & insurance business so my perspective may be a little slanted.
The GTPP is a lot cheaper than other brands or third party. It would cost me 500-600 a year to extend the warranty on my bike with no real break. It gets to the point where I ask myself, am I better off putting the money in the bank? DK. I do know if something goes, it's going to hurt.

So if I got this and wanted new tires .. . I'd first have to be at the wear bars, and then have to get a set of Stock Stones . . . I'll pass on this and keep the GTPP . . .

I'm sure this isn't going to replace your tires when they wear out. It would much more likely be road hazard coverage.

I bought extra tire/wheel protection for my car. Last winter, I slid on the ice into a curb. Since the curb is a part of the street and is expected to be "in the road", this did not cover the new tire I needed.

Some would argue that those of us with Kawi warranties or its extension have an advantage because Maw Kaw holds her own paper. Some OEMs won't even carry the original warranty.

My dealer takes the time and effort to write warranty claims so that they have a good chance of approval. Reading some of the threads on the forum I get the idea that I'm lucky, very lucky!

BMW doesn't offer extended warranties. Those are 3rd party. It's just 3 years, 36k miles. I don't know about HD. I think Honda has extended warranties.

HD's come with a two year warranty and you can buy up to 5 additional years. The tire/wheel plan is an additional charge, I think.

Seems like everyone is getting into the tire/total service plan. GOAZ is big on that. Parsons is the king of the up sell. I wonder what HD charges for each additional year? Seems for BMW, it runs 4-500 each additional year through a third party. Kawasaki is a bargain in comparison. Whatever my next bike will be, it'll be less maintenance and cheaper to fix.
