Risers!! to keep from having to stretch your arms out like two overworked bungie cords when you're riding.
This was my thought. I sat on the Voyager at the local dealer and felt it the bar reach was closer, but it felt like a good thing. Closer/ but not too close, just comfortable. It's the 18,495 sticker the dealer had on it that I have a problem with, but think it's a beauty.

Went to the Local Dealer Today

I went on Wednesday. The only Dealer that would replace my leaking shock was out of town so "Road Trip". I get there and he hands me a set of keys and says take the Voyager for a burn while we change out the shock. So, not to disappoint the man I do. What i think:
A) lots of power - motor spools up to red line real fast ( banged it off rev limiter twice)
B) seat sucks - makes you sit on your stuff ( way to pillowy)
C) fairly tall and wide - Ima short ( 30" inseam) and my legs don't sit flat footed
D) windshield is way tall ! I mean waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tall!
E) speedo is wierd to read - small and here in Canada marked at 30 km / 60 km / 90 km / 120 km / 150 km ( mose posted speed limits are 100 Or 110 km
F) actually liked that damn thing! Could probably fix most of the issues and liked the ABS
So I get back and he says now try a Nomad - and I say Okay!
A) mostly same issues except speedo is much better
B) like the cruise
C) the bags are actually slightly bigger than Nomad - my saddle bag bags fit with room for a pair of chaps rolled up also!
All in all I think they did good! Just my humble opinion .

Went to the Local Dealer Today

I am dying to ride a Voyager. 1700 Nomad? Been there, done that. Nice bike, but if I was to change, I'd go for the Voyager.

I read on the local VROC forum that one of the local dealers has a Voyager on the floor. I dislike this particular dealer (not my dealer), but I may lower my standards and go just to drool over it.

Went to the Local Dealer Today

Went to a dealer today to see about some medium weight gloves. There was a 2009 Nomad, black, and a 2009 1700 Classic LT. I am not all that impressed, particularly because of the amount of chromed plastic. It looked cheaper than mine. It was also smaller ergonomically. The bags didn't look right, as there was a lot of space between them and the fender, and they were odd shaped. Cruise control is a big plus and the engine was pretty... Anyway, I went to Quiznos afterwards and a trooper saw my bike and said "I don't care what they say about HD or Victory, that Vulcan is the nicest riding bike", and he said he had ridden all three. It made my day. He also said the short WB on the new one was a bad idea...

Yeah, I'd ride one too, but at this point, I still wouldn't buy one. I haven't had my current Nomad long enough and I think we need to see how this one hods up and what its idiosyncrasies are.

Went to the Local Dealer Today

I was at the local dealer today to get new tires fro the bike ( I got 10,300 miles on the original stones) I will be installing The Metzler ME880's. That said, the dealer had a new Voyager on the floor. I sat on it in the showroom yes it is a bit smaller and not as comfortable to me as my 08.
Also Way To much PLASTIC. and strange storage . Note: KW must have hired their design staff from Yamaha . My next bike will more than likely be a Goldwing. DJ

I finally took a good look at the Voyager when I went to the dealer to get some coolant. I liked everything about it! If I could swing it...I'd rode it home.
