best tire
i have read most all the tire threads, and who has best deal on MC tire, looking at either the 880's or E3's, got 9k on this crappy BS stock and its balder than me. my local stealer want 200 for the tire and 75 to mount, not in my budget, got a guy who will mount and balance for 25. he does all the harley's in the area, so if harley guys like him, he' got to be good

I grew up in Barre, my wife grew up in Montpelier and we have lived in Berlin for 36 years.
Where did you live and go to school or work?

Check out the Michelin Commander II tires at Bike Bandit.com I have been hearing good reports on that tire, and their prices seem good to me.

Didn't see rte 27 on the map. I ride rte 17 and 116 south on occasion, I prefer rte's 302, 12 and 14. Been to Winooski many, many times. Sugarbush when I was skiing was my favorite resort in Vermont. Still doing LE? Hey, were you living here when Betsy the moose lived in Lincoln?

I realize there will be some that will scoff..... but I've had just about every brand of tire on my Nomad...
The next pair of tires for me will be the Avon Cobras... and I'll probably stick with them. IMHO, the Cobras were best in moto tires as far as wear and performance. My 2 centavos worth.

thanks Trip, i will look into to them, Loafer, my mistake it was rt 17, is that general store still there on the right in Starkboro (big Brown store) i lived 2 mins from there, after 16 yrs of law enforcement I retired the badge, maybe because I almost took a shotgun blast to the back, the maple trees are my best friend, got chased once up rt17 by a mountain lion or cougar and i was on my 65 honda dream, and if it didnt give up on me i would of been supper, cause that little 305 didnt want to go to fast up the mountain,LOL

I think with Cobra, that is what most put on the rear. That is what I did.

I just bought my fourth set of Avon Cobra's....got over 12k on each of the first three. They aren't cheap but are worth the coin. Chaparral Motorsports has them on sale right now.

I would avoid the Metzelers myself, I never got any good wear from them.
