Has anyone tried Iridium spark plugs

I've been thinking of changing my plugs to the new Iridium. . But they don't match the heat range. The closest is DPR7EIX-9 and it a range colder.
I have an 07 Nomad with no changes from stock, only 4500 miles. Pinging and heat are my only problems. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I have changes in mind. K-N air filter and Cobra duals, but have completed them yet.Will probably do the bafflectomy first. Cheaper than the Cobras.

I bought a set of those very plugs, but I've not installed them yet. The plugs I'm running now are very low mileage, so I'm in no rush to change them.

I installed Iridium plugs last season, and they are still in the bike working well. There has been no problems at all since Ive put them in, and most likely I will use them again.

I replaced the stock NGK at 44,000 miles. I replaced them with stock NGK. My engine is box stock, no mods at all.

Notice any improvement in gas mileage or pick up to justify the extra cost (which I am not even sure how much that cost is)? Just curious.

The thing about iridium plugs is that they're supposed to last longer.

I didn't notice any differences, but the fact that they are supposed to give a stronger spark with less required voltage is the main reason I switched to them. The bike may fire quicker than it used to but if it does, it is a very small difference, at least on my bike. I think I payed about $10.00 a plug here on sale.

I haven't.. Doubt if I would spend the more dollars when I have no need.. The plug won't make for more power really, and won't change timing no matter what you do.

The range colder on a bike that pings just might help stop the ping, but it would be folly to get rid of ping that way. The spark isn't any colder on a colder plug either. Colder means the plug sheds heat faster in the inner ceramic core around the center electrode. This core can be the cause of ping. Still this isn't the correct way to stop ping, and is just a method to stop ping if all else fails.

Most of this is BS marketing... Usually meaning something is wrong and you have a fast easy expensive way out.

If there is any thing that says More Power, faster starts, more power, it is all hype.

How long are stock plugs suppose to last before change out??? Do you use mileage or yrs??

Doc use miles and 20,000 miles and more is what we should get on Nomads.. 30,000 isn't unheard of. Years don't apply, unless it is years under a swamp...

2 parts matter in general so long as the plug is othewise sound.. The center electrode should be square on the face, and the 'L' electrode should not be tapered, bent, bashed, or burnt away.

I ran my original plugs 30,000 and they were still fine. I coulda dressed them a little and run them another 30,000 no problems.

Now in the old days of points and condensors and piddly 15,000 volt sparks, 10,000 miles was the norm for me on a bike but some bikes prefered about 5,000 miles.

Iridium plugs and platinum plugs are supposed to go 100,000 miles in cars and at least 50,000 in bikes.
