Riding home from work yesterday I had a "close one". On a four lane divided parkway I was rounding a curve about 45-50 (Speed limit 45) approaching a green light. I could see a car pull up from the right at the intersection then he was obscured by a subdivision sign. I could just see the front of the car. Not the driver. I let off the throttle thinking "he's not going to wait".

But he did wait . . . until I was in full view entering the intersection. He started a slow roll across both lanes. Not know for sure which lane he was really going to use I grabbed the brakes, layed on the Stebel. Then he stopped leaving about half the left lane open for an escape.

Still braking and diving for the opening in the left lane I missed him by about a foot. Have no idea how fast I was going at that point. Guessing maybe 20, but still too fast to be hitting someone.

I checked the mirror as I continued and he just sat there until I went around another curve and couldn't see him anymore.

I was planning on going past home and out in the country for a ride. Instead I went home and changed my underwear.

I'm sure I was no more than some crazy motorcyclist to him.

I always assume they don't see me in those scenarios, you did the right thing.

Don't you wish we were back in the good ole days when you could pull over and drag the SOB out of his car and whip his a$$ or get yours whipped? You just can't fix stupid! Good that you made the right reflex decisions and escaped unharmed.

Good thing it turned out alright for you. I think what we need is a button on the bike that when pushed projects a hologram of an 18 wheeler coming at these guys. I bet that would get their attention.

The line I always tell my wife be it the car or bike; It was my fault, I left the cloaking device on.

About a year ago someone did about the same to me. I guess I was in one of those moods. Turned around followed her...she pulled in a parking lot, I pulled up behind her..got out..walked up to her still sitting in the drivers seat....just nicely explained a few things to her, I didn't yell, curse just talked.....said 'okay you have a nice day' and walked back to my bike and left. She never opened her mouth or said a word.

Fess up Nancy, didn't you get a slight urge to grab her hair and drag her through the 4" opening she had in her window?

That's why I don't follow people who piss me off. Afraid of what I might do. :(" title="" border="0"/>
