Stereo - what do you have?

How powerful is the stereo on your bike? What does it really take to be able to hear it on the highway?

Here is an amp that is Bluetooth and comes with a wired remote. It is 45watts x 4 or 90watts x 2 bridged. Since it is Bluetooth, you don't even need a head unit. You can use your phone (or whatever) as a source.

Is 45watts enough? I am pretty sure the 90watts bridged would be plenty loud.

What'cha got?

What kind of speakers are you using? That plays alot into the sound and clarity of your music.

My set up is an Alpine deck (I forget the exact one) with an Alpine 445U amp. The deck puts out 45 RMS Watts and the amp bridged puts of 90 RMS Watts. I have 2 6x9 speakers in my fairing that can handle this power and more. The 6x9's are 3 way marine made by Bazooka. They are the only true Marine speakers that are 3 way (3 speakers in one. Tweeter, mid range, and bass) that I was able to find. I can honestly say I usually only turn my stereo up to about 15 (it will go to 35) and can hear it clearly over my V&H with ultimate baffles and average speed of 65. So when needed, I can turn up the volume and hear my system with no problems at all. And I have gotten complements on how clear the sound is. The only down side to my set up is that my deck does not have Blue Tooth for my music. But I just plug my phone into the axillary plug and put my phone into my shield pouch and ride on enjoying Pandora.

Mine's a Harmon Kardon Premium sound system with AM/FM/WX/CB/CD/AUX with intercom and 4 speakers with passenger controls and two headset jacks.

It came with the bike.

I am considering buying a Stealth Fairing, and what kind of Stereo I want to get.

There are 3 different speaker configurations offered, but I will probably go with the 6x9s. 90w into two good 6x9s should be plenty.

So what I am thinking is:

Mount a Marine cover in the fairing. Mount the Amp on the inside of the fairing on TOP of the Marine cover. Use the Marine cover as a box with a charger, where I could put an iPod, or the Phone or whatever. And then use the Wired control next to the right grip. Drawback - no radio. Plus side, the amp is hidden inside the fairing.

I bought a sena 20s and mounted it to the helmet! I can hear the radio just fine lol, at any volume plus I can talk to other riders in the group and use the cell phone.

I'm using just a 200w kenwood bt headunit to power my polk 6x9s, no amp. I promise you they are plenty loud i can jam out at 90 and still not be able to turn it up all the way because its too loud. Once i get a trunk on and some rear speakers for the wife i might throw a small amp in the back but with good speakers and a good deck i dont think you need it.

I've got the USA trailer store stealth fairing too and a pioneer head unit with ken wood 6x9 speakers. I rock at 90 and have no problems hearing the sounds. Decent bass too.

I hat the boss audio kit (600w for 90 bucks) and it worked really well too. The only reason I removed it was to install the complete fairing.
