05 classic 1600 shutting off while riding

So last night I washed my bike. After I took it for a ride. Less than a quarter mile down the road the bike temporarily lost power and bogged down but caught it self. This happens twice. Then about a mile down the road the bike completely shut down. The red temp guage came on and I lost all power. I pulled over and shut the bike off. I turned the key back to the on position and it started right back up. This happened 3 or 4 times in about a 6 mile drive.

Does anyone have any clue what it could be?

This happened to mine. All I did was let it sit overnight and let everything dry out and it started up and ran perfectly fine.

Ok that's what I'm hoping. I didn't take it to work this morning so I'll find out later today.

Thanks

Yeah you might have gotten a drop or two of water in a spark plug or something

Whenever I wash any of my bikes I use my inexpensive yard blower, set on low, to blow off the excess water and of course avoiding the top console/switch etc.

Another thing to check would be your kickstand cut out switch.

Alright so I think I narrowed it down the the ignition. It seems loose. When I'm riding I think it is vibrating it just enough to shut the bike down. Any one had a loose ignition before?
