Darn aftermarket brake pads
Hi
While riding today I noticed a funny noise when applying the rear brake. I thought it couldn't be the brake pads (aftermarket HBC or EBC ???) since I replaced those last time I replaced the rear tire. I pulled over and looked and sure enough the pads were wore out and after only 5960 miles. I looked at my records when I got home and I got 27655 miles out of the OEM pads so I ordered a new set of OEM rear pads at Ron Greens for $44.44. I thought maybe they were dragging and that was the reason they wore so quickly so I rode it about 4 miles then pulled to the side of the highway with out using the rear brakes and felt the brake disk and it was warm but not hot at all. Can motorcycle brake disc's be turned? Just wondering. Water Rat Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I've never found anyone willing to turn a bike disc; don't think I'd wanna try it, myself. But, I'm sure there's someone out there doing it.

I've got 18K on my Classic and 10K on the Nomad - Haven't changed pads yet, but I'm EZ on brakes, using gears mostly to slow down. Also I use the fronts more than the back and there's two up there. FYI
