Are you saying they STILL cannot get it right for 2014? 100 year old product still in beta mode.

Nothing major Dave. The saddle-bag supports were squeaking and I couldn't figure it out. They fixed it.

I also wanted the primary chain adjusted tighter. The factory setting is too loose when you ride these things on twisties a lot. It is fine if you just ride straight roads in a casual style; but for me, I needed it tighter. They adjusted it.

I also wanted the clutch-cable loosened some. They are really tight when new; and I use the clutch and shift a lot on windy roads. It cramps my hand if it is too tight; and I like a more feather touch on the clutch.

Mostly just personal preferences needing to be addressed... Other than that... nothing wrong with it.

I thought the new HD touring bikes had hydraulic assisted clutches.

They do and they are great. I am talking about the lever tension. It can be adjusted to require less pressure to pull-in. When new they are stiff.

No big deal guys...

I like that feature. Good to hear everything else was ok.

I must have bought the only 2009 ultra that's was possessed!

I don't know of anyone that's had even a remote number of issues than what I've had. Hopefully it's all in the past now that every things been switched out.

I really feel sorry for you Dave. You know, as I, any company can put out a bad product once in a while. Typically, it is me that buys those... believe me. Most that know me are frightened anytime I buy something, because they know something bad is going to happen

I just got the bike back from the dealer tonight. It is about 40 miles to my dealer, so I was able to see what they did.

The clutch lever is great. They have it adjusted perfect for me. It was ridiculously tight for the first 1,000 miles.

The primary chain. The slack is gone; at least for now. It will be gone until the tensioner shoe wears out; which happens a lot faster when I have them tighten it. But to me it is worth it for rides where I up and down shift a lot.

Oh yeah... there was a recall on the coolant filler neck. Do not know what that is about, but mine has apparently been fixed. I suppose it might be related to the "puking" a few had reported happening.

One note though... I always take my bike without the saddle-bags to the dealer for service. The mechanics appreciate it, and they don't get scuffed-up when they take them off. The point is... the bike does not handle as well without them. The trunk (empty), without the saddle-bags, is just enough top-end weight to throw the entire bike's balance off some. Strange feeling.

Lastly, the "Wet-Head" definitely is a cooler running engine. It is not that it doesn't still get hot when sitting on top of it; but there is a noticeable difference. The temp today was warm enough that I would have been uncomfortable when at a traffic light. Not so much now. So, that is good news so far.

Anyway... the bike is working just fine so far. I will be the first to report any crap that starts; as I do not have any product loyalty at all.

I just drove a few of those roads 2 days ago, in the car though.

Have ridden past Wildcat Mtn Park several times so we bought a sticker and spent some time there on Tuesday. Some really great views up and down the valley from the lookout points. Nice hiking trails and camp sites too. Great little park. -Cal

I have never pulled off into the park because of it requiring the permit sticker. Also, wasn't sure if the roads were paved or not. I assumed most were not.

I had seen a video of the views from the park lookouts. They do look great.

On my Victory saddlebag mount is a big warning sticker "Do not ride without saddlebags installed". I am sure that the trunk acts like a big sail when the saddlebags are off.
See you guys tomorrow, have a safe ride and enjoy Poopy's.

:

Do they still offer that feature of disabling the rear cylinder at a stop? I've engaged it on my 2009 a few times just to hear the sound.
