1500 Nomad tachometer

I have an 04 1500 Nomad that I've had for 5 yrs now. It has what I assumed was a factory tach integrated with the handlebars hold down. The chrome on it is flaking off pretty bad on the rear cup. I've tried finding it in kawasaki parts breakdowns but I haven't been able to find it. Does anyone know whether it was a factory or aftermarket item. Thanks for any help

I don't think any of the 1500 or 1600 Vulcan Nomad models came with a factory tach.

It was aftermarket, can't remember the brand. Only reason I know is when I had my Nomad I was looking for one

Nowadays there are a few brands of chrome paint that looks pretty damn good. Would be worth trying for a lot less bucks than replacing it, or getting the part chromed.

Thanks for all the replies, I was beginning to think it a was fire and steel, but wasn't sure. I was thinking about getting rechromed but thought if I could buy a new cup for the back it would be about the same price as rechroming. But wasn't able to find anything other than a few used ones on ebay that are in the same shape or worse than mine. Thanks again.

I found a couple of listings for a tach for the 900 Vulcan and the 1700 nomad. But both said out of stock, so not sure if they quit making them or just behind in production.

Here ya go....
https://www.amazon.com/Bikers-Choice...ct_top?ie=UTF8

Also, FYI, Barons, Drag Specialities, Bosch and a couple of others make them , mostly universal. Meaning, they fit more than 1 motorcycle....

Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to get it rechromed. I like the kawasaki mount and design.
