How fast is it?

I went to the Phoenix Vulcan Riders meeting this morning, we met at a Kawasaki dealership in Mesa. I walked in the door and they had a Mesa PD bike on the showroom floor. Fully decked out with lights, radar gun, the whole ball of wax. Not sure why it was there...maybe service or predelivery or something. I didn't look closely enough to tell if it was a Connie or a Z1000. Anyway, one of the other members walks up and says "what's the speedo say? Is it 180? I told him it did. He said "Wow, that's fast". I told him the speedo on my Nomad says 140.

How fast is it?

Most Connies could hit 140 or so but not with a tall windshield

It is a Connie the replacement for the Z1000, Mesa ordered 22 of them. Heavy duty suspension even a dual battery. It will make the radio shops and the mechanics very happy all the accessories won't run the starting battery into the ground. It will definitely be easier to install PD radios compared to the Honda's which are a gigantic pain. Bet there will be a number of departments, at least down here, wishing they waited rather than buying the other brands.

How fast is it?

I doubt a Nomad can exceed 120 MPH if it were dropped from 55,000 ft.

You are right Mac. Terminal velocity of a bullet shot straight up is 152mph on the return trip. A human being will fall at a max rate of 124mph. The Nomad would probably somehere in between.

Georgia Tech Engineering students. It all has to do with mass, density and air resistance.

Hi Bud,

Methinks a human body is more aerodynamic than a Nomad. Not that you could use it for a parachute but I think that, just maybe, you could drive it faster than you could drop it. Not that I'm volunteering for either.

Would a ton of fertilizer make it go faster? Maybe we could strap the current potus on it....
