Poudre Canyon 08/22

Yesterday, Aug 22, The Denver Vulcan Riders decided to take a nice long trip.

Here is our route:

We started in Boulder, at the Walnut Cafe. The food was great. Good quality breakfast food. I recommend the Walnut Cafe to anyone who would like to have breakfast in Boulder.

We rolled out of the Walnut Cafe and headed up Boulder Canyon and around Peak to Peak Highway. Beautiful views and great roads. Then we crossed into Estes Park and headed up to Trail Ridge Highway.

From there, we headed to Walden. Took Highway 14 (Poudre Canyon) from there. Poudre Canyone is beautiful There is fire damage from the big fires we had a few years ago. The damage is terrible and majestic. You kind of get awestruck when you're there. I will try to get pictures of that at a later time (one of the people I ride with has a Go-Pro).

All in all, it was a wonderful day. I left my home at 0700 and returned at 2100. Covered about 400 miles, but it was twisty and fun.

I rode Rock Mountain National Park 5 years ago and was in awe at the beauty. Haven't been through Poudre and Walden yet. Ill have to look at doing this route soon

Oh bite me. 😉 this ride took me 14 hours. Backyard was still a bit of distance. We definitely get spoiled here.
