2014 Rally

Okay guys. You have to have figured out by now that I am the worst procrastinator in the world. But, we have to get this sorted out soon or nothing will happen.

Chris did some research and came up a great location on the Clearwater River in Idaho.

Here is a link;

https://plus.google.com/117593887356...1629029/photos

I'm going to suggest that we consider this as the place to meet. The road at both ends of Idaho hwy 12 warn of curves for the next 100 miles. We will just have to put up with that.

We need to pick dates. I'm partial to mid June because the days are long and the weather is reasonably mild.

Let me know what you think and if this is acceptable I will contact the lodge and reserve a block of rooms.

Okay, let me have it.

Can anyone recall the author who penned the Rally Rethink thread?

1200 Miles.........that is a day ride!

That is fine w/me. I would suggest a bit later (after July 4), just to ensure decent weather...especially for anyone coming from the north. But whatever works for the group works for me, afterall, I am just an enthusiast

That sounds great to me as well. I know we have a number of NW members who drive bus for the school district here who won't be able to attend unless the dates are closer to late July....just sayin'..... July/August are always safe bets for weather in the NW...it just might be pretty warm. That hotel is completely awesome for a gathering such as ours. We have stayed there several times and the patio is freaking awesome for the evening cocktail hour! BTW...if you try to check out the hotel on Google Earth, you won't see it as they are using a 2003 photo for that section and the hotel was not yet built. Sucks I know....

CJ....you said 1200 miles as though you might need a couple diaper changes along the way..... At least you can pick up a couple more states and maybe even add a few HD tee's to your collection.....

I would love to ride to northern Idaho, I have never been there. I've been all over SE Idaho and to Boise several times. This will also give me a chance to stop in SLC and see some friends.

The Boise area sucks compared to northern Idaho. Sounds like a great place to me , only 370 Miles I could leave after lunch . Been wanting to ride Route 12 anyway.

The sooner we can get dates nailed down, the better.

It's 1092 for me. The exact same distance at Estes Park was. No problems on Ms. Vickey. 1200 miles on a Barney Davidson is another matter!

Is this where I chime in with the "It's 3,000 miles for me?" But if you take the way I usually travel it will be 5,000 and who the heck cares anyway? It's someplace I haven't been so I have to go no matter how far it is!!!

1200 miles on a Harley is effortless. In fact, it's downright FUN!

That was cold and cruel, and I'm at a loss for words to describe the horrid image forever burned into my memory for eternity, yet somehow so hilarious it took 30 minutes to type.
