placing wires in your handlebars

Just wondered if anyone has placed the wires inside the bars for that clean look.
If so, pictures please.
Also, price if not done yourself.

Im about to, just waiting for my clutch line to come in so i can put my apes on.

I've done it before on a few harley's, it's not hard, the internal wire of a speedo cable makes it go SUPER fast.

If youve got experience soldering you can knock it out no problem. No telling what a shop would charge...i did it on my first Nomad back in 99 and i think they charged me 300 to install the bars, lines and wiring.

The video's I've seen, seem to be pretty straight forward.
Just need to figure which set of bars to go with.

I did it when I had my Shadow about 12 years ago. It was part of a major front end light installation. It was slow going and was a winter project. And the Shadow didn't have cruise control, stereo controls, etc. on the grips and still had a lot of wires. I puts apes on my Nomad but didn't want to deal with having to run the wires thru the bars. On the Vaquero, I wouldn't try is for sure. There must be a hundred wires on each side. . Anyway, I documented the procedure I used

http://home.insightbb.com/~kpmh.005/...-Headwinds.htm

Maybe it will help.

Think I read when I was/am getting ready to do this to my Vaquero, 64 wires total..however it equates to 128 soldered connections if putting taller bars on due to increasing wire length. Not an insurmountable task, npbut not for faint of heart either. I think the biggest issue is holding the wires while soldering. Additionally I would splice in different places so that there isn't a big bulk of connections in one spot. I didn’t do it because I didn’t like the feel of the bars I ordered. Good luck
