Air cleaner cover

Has anyone tried cutting and screening the center of the air cleaner cover to get more air and keep the stock look 🤔

You could be more specific and state the year and engine size.

It might look good but I don't think it would really get more air in.
If you have a stock exhaust system than more air can't get out.
So it would probably be more cosmetic than anything.

If I remember correctly RacnRay tried that approach and when he ran his skoot on his dyno the performance had dropped off.

Just remember you are dealing with a "tuned" system.

Ray returned the cover to stock and the performance came back.

If I remember correctly.

Are you two implying that you get better performance with a stock air cleaner system vs. a BAK, or just the mod that was suggested in this thread?

We are talking about 2014 Nomad.
Dougathon, are you talking about cutting out the centre of the stock cover on the left side (gear shift side ) ?

To all who are looking at doing air cleaner mods, want more performance and keep the stock look.

If you have not done so - Ivanize your ECU and you can leave the air cleaner alone.

It will run so much better you won't care what's under the Stock Air Cleaner.
