No, we barely got enough to turn the grass white. Just enough snow that I can't use either of my toys.

I bought a large snow-blower last year hoping "Murphy's Law" would happen to where it would just rust-out and seize-up over five years of zero use -- however instead; last year we had record snow fall in this area.

It was bad enough that I let my neighbor use it also. We used it so much that we finally broke the auger clutch-cable right at the end last year.

I had forgotten to get it fixed this summer; and remembered yesterday when I started it to get it "loosened" for the winter. Hope to get it fixed before the first snow though.

Since you are so far south of where I live there is quite a bit of difference in the weather between the two areas.

I have about 8-inches of snow on the ground now; and it is around 15 degrees here. I live dead-center of Illinois just south of the Wisconsin border... only about 6-7 miles from Beloit, WI.

The snowmobiles have already been out and about for over a week now. I will join them myself this weekend; as that is my winter's "biking".

Haven't you heard ponch. Ya can't live off $178.000 a year down there unless your wife also makes the same amount.

We don't have governors in Illinois -- only felons.

The following is a "hall-of-shame" list of Illinois gov's having been sent to prison: Gov. Otto Kerner; Gov. Daniel Walker; Gov. Ryan; and soon Gov. Dan "Blago".

We are about to break a record on having two governors in prison at the same time.

Both of these governor's terms were one-after-the-other, so we are "on-a-roll" here -- we might break our own record with whomever gets in next and have three gov's in prison at the same time. I mean really... the possibilities are endless!! Who knows?

Also; when "Blago" goes-down; we will have broken another record for having put a "sitting" governor in prison. That has never been done in our country's history.

Really exciting stuff going on here in Illinois. We are a pretty proud-bunch here.

Everyone just needs to remember... our next president came out of the ashes of the corrupt Chicago politics. Watch your wallets!! ;)
