The Nomads can and do sit in the unheated garage over the winter for up to 5 months without being started and we have never, ever charged them or used any kind of battery tender.
Those 2 batteries need to go in the "Battery Hall of Fame". That's remarkable.

LD, it isn't much of a took kit in the first place. The best tool in it is the spark plug socket, which isn't much of a tool either. But the fact remains the bike did have one in it at some point and somebody took it. Why somebody took it I can't explain.

I think it has to do with the 5 months of freaking winter we get most years.

battery question

Mine is an o6 with 70,000 miles.... Still the orig battery. It has never accepted a charge.. Always shows full charge.... I'm wondering how much longer this will last myself.. But, I do have a set of jump cables that I keep in the saddle bag all the time, just in case, because sooner of later it's gonna happen.

battery question

When I plug the battery tender up to my motorcycle battery, it always shows it is fully charged.....I don't use a meter to test it... the battery tender answers my question depending on if it go's on charge, or not..

Oh well my best guess is the battery is taking the charge, but the battery is up enough to not show it. The twin stator set up is a kick ass no sissy's allowed set up. It beats the pants off a lot of other bikes so far as charging is concerned, and that counts HD. Only BMW and Goldwing are equal that I am aware of.
