I need to know where I can buy the re-packing for a set a V&H Dual Baggers, for my 2000 Nomad Fi 1500cc?

Thanks

I've repacked mine twice now. I just bought Frost King fiberglass pipe wrap from the hardware store and wrapped up the cores with several layers. If you use one roll per baffle it makes a loose wrap which is a little quieter than original Baggers. If you use 1 1/2 rolls per baffle and wrap them tightly they are a little louder than the original baggers and won't burn out quite as fast.

They're a bit tight to get out, so I use a little slide hammer with a forged hook. That yanks them out with about 4 wacks.

What did you use to secure it?

It doesn't much matter as long as it's not plastic which would glue inside the hot pipes. I don't think I'd use rubber bands either.

I've used cotton string, but I've also used masking tape. The pipe holds it all together, so it just needs to be secure until you get it screwed back together.

or you can just leave the packing off completly not going to hurt anything

or you can cut the baffles in half and make them sound perfect IMO

I wish I had repacked mine when I had my 1500. Mine were too loud for me, and I never even thought of repacking them.

On 2 stroke dirt bikes, I had repacked the silencers, just never thought of doing it on the Vance & Hines.

Yeah, it's really easy to do. Once you get the cores out. Without a slide hammer it might be a bit fustrating.

Some guys I read, use roofing metal that comes as flashing. but I haven't tried that bit, so can't say how it is done.
