"My Backyard" or "Where do you ride?"

In reading your posts, I noticed many very nice riding roads being mentioned. Some of them I've ridden on. I think I've ridden every road in Texas, Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma. Definately familiar with 9 and 23 in Arkansas. Spent many a night at Queen Wilhelmina. I've ridden just about every road in Colorado, although there are still a few roads left I've got to ride. Ridden roads in Southern Missouri all the way east to Deal's gap near Knoxville, TN. That's about as far east as I've gotten, but I do plan on getting to WVirginia some day. I've ridden as far north as Montana....Yellowstone was a trip I'll never forget.

"My Backyard" or "Where do you ride?"

I was in Tyler State Park last summer on vacation. As memory serves there were some nice roads in the park with changes in direction/elevation, but the low park speed limit and traffic would lessen their enjoyability factor. Anyone BTDT??

I live about 5 miles west of Tyler State Park. Been going there since I was a kid. You're right tho, low park speed doesn't allow it to be much fun on a bike.

"My Backyard" or "Where do you ride?"

Trip (aka Moderator), I'll bet Yellowstone was an unforgetable memory. My wife and I will hopefully venture west to Yellowstone someday (before really old age sets up on us). We have discussed Riding to thru Royal Gorge, up to Eisenhower Tunnel, thru Rocky Mtn. National Park, over Rabbit ear pass (my brother is a truck driver and I've heard him talk of going over Rabbit Ear in the late 60's and early 70's) through Steamboat Sprgs., up to Yellowstone, and maybe up in to MT. to Going to the Sun Road, then back thru the Black Hills in SD. on the way back to Arkansas. I think that would be a heck of a road trip. Not many from this area that I know of will ride a trip like that, they think my wife and I are a little off our nut for riding the way we do but, I say what the hell if we both enjoy it then go for it. Right, Right.

You're right Jim,
Don't let anyone hold you back from a good trip. I've been just about everywhere in Colorado on my bike...Royal Gorge, Eisenhower Tunnel, Ouray, Ridgeway, All the passes and then some. But none of them compared to Yellowstone. When I took that trip, I was riding a Honda Magna, but feel free to read my trip report at:

Trip, That was a very good Trip report. I also liked the picture video. That gives us an idea of what sound like some really great roads to transverse. I appreciate you displaying the info for everyone to read.
