My Italian friends & I address each other as Dago Guinea WOPS... all in fun.......... understood.

So I agree with you...... a non-Italian calling an Italian a Dago in a negative or hostile manner is not ok.


As for San Diegans referring to themselves as "from Dago"... that is universally used here in San Diego........

The Hell's Angels Dago Chapter here has the "Dago Club House"
Many of them were/are Italian-Americans....
