Greg, Its always been interesting to read your posts, and hopefully we can continue to do so time to time. Congrats on the new bike, The Ultra is one of my favorites, and Having ridden a few of them I know what you mean about the low speed handling. My bike feels like a dump truck compared to an Ultra in the parking lots. When we have a Canadian rally someday you are more than welcome in joining us, we would love to have you visit. Good luck with the new bike and keep us posted.
BTW there is an Ultra Classic forum on Delphi that also has a great bunch of guys that know a lot about there bikes, you should look them up one day as well.
Cheers; Steve

Hey Greg.....It doesn't have to be like the Black Hills. Part of the fun is the journey to get there and spending time with the people once I do get there.

Greg,
I'm a little late to the love-fest here... ....but I really enjoyed rooming next to you and Kendra in Custer. We have much in common politically and if my wife would have let me....I'm sure the tequila I was drinking would have spoke for me!

Congrats on the new ride! If I was gonna buy an HD....it would be that very bike. Lots of extras and good luggage capacity. I hope you keep checkin' in here as I have always enjoyed your posts. Do let us know the pros and cons of the Ultra...inquiring minds want to know!

Good luck and best wishes from up here in the great Pacific NW and hey....if you ever need a really good road trip....the NW in the summer is an unbelievable destination for riding enthusiasts. Just let me know when you're comin' so I can stock up on some good tequila and cigars for the long back-slappin' session our wives denied us in Custer.... ;)!

Chris;

Hey... enjoyed Custer and the evening conversations as well! Especially the "to-kill-ya" you brought. Great stuff.

I will be hanging around; as Trip has let me. So... I'll pipe-in once in awhile.

As I told you... one of my destinations is up in your area... so that will likely happen sooner than later. I'll let you know.

In the meantime; ride safe; and we'll be talking here and otherwise.

Greg

Greg, Enjoy the new bike. We know what you are saying about the slow speed handling, has take some getting used to here. FWIW, probably not much now, but the 1700s have completely eliminated that issue as far as I could tell from my test ride on one awhile back. Maybe you noted the same if you shopped them. I know that that alone doesn't doesn't fill you list but maybe for some others... Glad you'll be sticking around although distractions will surface.

Greg, you should have come out hear for your new Harley. They had quite the deal going on in Greeley. Buy a 2009 Harley and get a scooter free. Would have been funny to advertise it as "Buy a scooter and get a Harley for Free". Darn expensive scooter but hey, a free Harley.

Ells; I did ride both the new Voyager and Nomad. BIG difference in how they handle compared to my '04 Nomad. Kaw really did a nice job re-engineering the frame to help on that issue.

I'm telling you... I came really close to buying the Voyager. (We were also looking for more luggage -- thus the Nomad was out for my type of riding.)

We'll be hanging out.

Talk soon, Greg

Waterman;

I already get grief over trailering my bike; economics; and the HD from you. I couldn't imagine the added grief I would suffer from you if I had a scooter also!! Ha!

(Although... I could trailer the scooter along with the HD so that when the HD breaks-down I could use the scooter to get somewhere!)

Maybe that is the main idea of the special offer in the first place
