4 weeks earlier than normal for me...

Well...

Been busy remodeling my house (new floors and paint -- what a hassle -- and it hurts too!).

I have tried to get this done so I can take my last "fall-ride" -- however I am resigned to the fact this isn't going to happen, not because of my house-project, but rather -- we are not going to see weather good enough to make my normal late-season-ride.

It has been unbelievably cold up here. We have missed at least an additional 4-weeks of riding that October would have provided in any other year.

Overall this season started late... didn't provide many "great" days of riding... and has ended far too soon for my liking.

I hope you guys faired better than me... or at least "tougher" than me to ride in this weather!

If we see an "Indian Summer"; I definitely will be out to ride. If it comes during the week... just figure I will not be working for a few days...

I'll watch for the weather; but it isn't looking good unless we are going to get record warm-weather in late October or early November... but we can hope.

I'll post on this board if I go.

I got to ride the 800 on the Toys For Tots last weekend in Davenport but drove down and rode just the ride and drove back. The temp. was just 41° and I didn't want to do the 40+ miles down there and then back without a windshield . Tomorrow we have a Toys For Tots in Clinton and will ride the Nomad because there will be HYW riding and 50+° riding. Until tonight I was going to go to Poopies in Savanna on Tues. but think she has changed her mind. Maybe she'll sober up by then!! If not, I can drink alone! ;)

I just might take a ride today depending on how warm it gets. If it pokes its nose through +50 degrees, I'll go... if not, then the bike is likely parked for the winter -- because I don't see where we're likely to get any warmer weather before then snow flies.

EDIT: Took the ride... a couple hours... temp said 54; but the wind chill felt far colder. I think that was my last ride for the year.

Now to start the count-down till next spring.

I had to run down to see my son this afternoon and took the opportunity to add another 110 miles on the bike. Never know how many more chances we will have.

I hear you John.

We can hope for some sort of "freak" weather pattern to occur that might give us the last-breath of a high 60 degree temp-day. As I mentioned... if it happens through the work-week; my work-place will just have to do without me for the day or two!

74 degrees today around here.

I "snuck-in" a short hour ride today. Left a bit early so I could get it done before dark.
