NW riders going to Custer?

I was just doing some looking at where the hotel is and we have to hit Missoula by 5:30 to have time to hit the tap room at the Big Sky brewery. It is one exit before the hotel. Then the Cracker Barrel is right across from the hotel for dinner.

Guess I should be checking in a little more often. Meeting up at the Outlet Mall exit is super. I don't remember the exit number either, but that is an easy fix. An 8:00 AM meeting time will work for me too.

Sounds like Rickyboy will be leaving a few days early for Custer, so as far as meeting any of the Canadian boys along the way...that may not happen.

Monday the 15th on the run to Custer, we gotta make a quick stop in Buffalo, WY to meet Bud (Idaho-High Plains Drifter) who will be waiting for us just off I-90.

I've always wanted to "Shuffle off to Buffalo."

Good to see you're up and thinking, again. <G>

I kind of thought you'd preffer to meet up along 90 rather than make the long haul to US2 from the south end.

This looks like it's gonna work out alright.

I'll have plenty of space for your stuff in the trailer. If you can get it to the parking lot.

Looks like we'll be meeting up at North Bend and makign the run to Missoula. That's about 447 miles, about 7 hours. If we want to get into Missoula for beer before 5:30 we'll need to leave North Bend at around 8:00 AM. Remember, we have a one hour time change at the border.

If people insist I might bring a change of socks and shorts....... even a shirt if those are required.
Do we get an hour older when we move the clock ahead? How about coming back - do we get an hour younger? If so, I'm heading west and will see you in Custer.

Hey Kris, it looks like I'll just be meeting you guys in Custer. My friend [new member midge} is coming west in a week or so. So the two of us will be leaving on the 11th of June, and take our time going. We have some stops we'll be making too.
lomax is unable to make up his mind on going, because of his work {understandable}
Not many of the other members have shown a response as to going. More have said they can't or are not going than have said yes. There are a couple of members that seem to be MIA. I hope they're both OK. There are about a doz. members between Alberta and BC and I can only count midge and I that are committed.
So unless we see you on the road somewhere between home and Custer we'll see you in Custer.

Rick,
That's all good. I pm'ed Bosko, but haven't heard back from him. He was talking about meeting us in Missoula...and yeah...Lomax is on the fence. I only know because I pm'ed him about how good his bike is looking and we chatted briefly about it. Anyways....I'm sure this economy will keep a few more members from going than would like to....but those who do will have a great time..... !

Is there a ride plan for Missoula to Billings and Billings to Custer?

I have a plan pretty well laid out Charlie. Let's touch base by phone and we can go over more of the details. It looks as though we might be meeting a Canadian member and his wife (Kevin...aka Voyager) in Billings on Monday morning, and we have to make a quick stop in Buffalo, WY Monday mid-day to pick up Bud (Idaho-High Plains Drifter).

The meeting place is at Exit 31 off I-90. Go under the freeway and there are two gas stations / C-stores on the right, as well as a M'icky D's and a couple other fast foods.
Plenty of room for a few bikes and short distance from the outlet mall....... shopping will not be impaired.
Watch the roundy bout at the bottom of the exit ramp (and when we get going), some of the folks using that exit don't bother to look and yield.

Looks like a great day today....... mow the lawn - go for a ride - mow the lawn - go for a ride - mow the lawn -

Have y'all planned your post-rally return home trip yet? The girls and I will be heading to Yellowstone to continue our family vacation following the rally. We'll be pulling out of Custer on Friday. My intention is to ride the Beartooth Highway en-route west. Anybody going in that direction?

I rode the Beartooth going toward RedLodge MT last year. I f you're a patch collector at all stop at the little store on top and pick one up. I'd go back that way but I am heading south toward NM after the rally.

LW,
After reading your post I took a closer look at that. I talked to the wife and I think we would like to include that in our return ride. Doing so will add another day to our overall trip...making it 10 days instead of 9....(bummer I know ). From what I can surmise in reading about it, the Beartooth is rated one of the, if not THE #1 Scenic Byway in all of North America... !! How can you not ride that road when you are that close to it...???

We will definitely be going from Custer back to Billings on Friday the 19th as we have friends there with whom we can stay. Saturday the 20th we could ride the Beartooth (212) down through north Yellowstone to Mammoth Hot Springs, then I'll head back up through Gardiner to Livingston (and I-90). Anyone else headed back west up for this bonus round adventure...??

I lived in Billings for a couple of years. Red Lodge was always a place to go. There was a little saloon there that had about eight tables in the back to eat. Great food and the snow crab was out of this world. If your in Billings the food is super at the Northern Hotel. It was back then anyway.
