A guy I work with says that Going to the Sun Road through Glacier NP is nothing short of MONDO-SPECTACULAR!. Hell...I might even have to make a 3-4 day run over there late next summer sometime.... !

I wanted to put together a map like Dan has on the SW board, but I guess it didn't work. When I clicked the link, it saw that I was already logged on, but after logging out and then going back to the link, it didn't work. I'll try to get this saved again.

I can't hardly ride with the weather, we are between the salmon and steelhead runs, and no hunting 'til next year....hence....no life right now. Might as well scour maps... ...!!!

That map SHOULD be editable by all. Anyone can add information (personal location, ride ideas, etc.) to it if they would like to, so play with it, but leave it better than you found it please.

Below is a link to a page within the Glacier NP home page that relates directly to the road. There is all kinds of cool stuff on here, including interactive virtual tours, photos of all kinds, etc. Very cool ;)....not that I'm lobbying or anything

While I personally like the idea of Kalispell and Glacier National Park for our 2010 Regional Rally, I do think it's a good idea to keep the idea's coming in and to put the final destination up to a vote...even if we only have a few voters.

On another note, we should probably try to dial in a hotel for our rendezvous point in Missoula this June on our way to the National in Custer. That way we can get that out there and people can start making reservations now, long before they start getting booked up....

You are right...we need to book something for 2009. I put a call in for the Best Western Grant Creek in Missoula. I will request a rate for 10-12 rooms (???). Here is the link.

If I have it figured correctly it would be the night of June 14th...someone please double check me on this.

I have never been there but looks like it is outside of downtown, easy highway access, lots of parking, well lighted, easy to find, clean, sounds like restaurant(s) next door (so no one has to ride after a refreshing beverage).

Because this will be just a "stopover" for most rather than a destination I think we need to keep it easy/simple (agree?).

Is this the one you had in mind?

If anyone has local knowledge of the area and know of any better alternatives please chime in!!
