Jack Adpaters fresh from powder coat

Hey Guy,
Thank you for the endorsement. Those nails are the best for attaching the adapter to the bike frame. I'm glad you like them.

I don't think you need an adapter on the 1700's as the motor does not drop below the frame.

Bud, what size nails do you use as pins.
You may remember, I have an early model adapter, no pins, end caps or ribbon.
Now don't go feelin' all guilty and everything and send me the stuff. I use a red bungee for the ribbon, don't need end caps but would like to use the right size nails for the pins. The bolts I am using now are kinda hard to remove when done.

TC, I use a pair of .99 discount bin #2 phillips screw drivers with orange plastic handles. The tapered end allows easy install and the handles for quick removal. The orange color stands out so I'm not likley to forget the jack adapter is installed.

I just heard from Santa. I think I am getting a set of pins for Christmas.

krash, that's a good idea. I will see how these pins work and if they don't live up to Santas, hype I will try your suggestion.

G'day Idaho,

Just curious as to how your adapter works and what jack it requires. Don't have anything like that available here in Oz from what I have seen so far. Do you have any instructions / pics etc??

I used to use a 2" x 8" pine sleeper and steel pipe as a lever to lift my 900, but would be near impossible not to mention dangerous to use on the 'Nad.

Cheers, Craig D.

His adapter will work with just about any hydraulic lift that goes under the center of the bike. It actually attaches to the bike, not the lift so it's fairly universal. The 1500/1600s have the frame rails slightly higher than the motor so if you put the bike on a lift, it's not terribly stable. Some have used blocks of wood or hockey pucks but those tend to slip around. Buds gizmo pins to the frame (generally no drilling required) and has a couple bars that hang down enough (under the frame) to catch the lift before the motor does. Absolutely brilliant idea and cheap considering the alternative (bike falling). Unfortunately, I don't know if I can afford his adapter this year (unless someone has a used one for sale) but next year, it's definitely on my list now that I've ordered a lift.

GO, BUD!

(The participants in the commercial are actors. They do not portray actual purchasers. Use at your own discretion. Your mileage may vary. Do not use in confined spaces without an adult present. Not for use by children or anywhere in the state of California on street legal vehicles. Off road use only.)

Alas, they are not needed on the 1700 frames. Those rat bastards at Kawasaki are gradually putting me out of business.

The 1700 frame is flat and sits below the engine case so your MC jack will work with no problem. (no charge for that info)

Hi Craig, See the picture in my signature line. The green frame is the adapter between the bike and the jack. My adapter frame pins to the frame tabs (the pins come with the kit). You will need to run the wheels up onto wood blocks to get enough clearance for the jack to roll under the bike with the adapter pinned in place. I recommend 2x10 cut in 10 inch squares because that makes a large patch to set the tires on. You will also need a block of wood for the kickstand otherwise the bike will lean WAY over with the wheels on the blocks.

Any standard MC jack with two flat arms that raise parallel to the floor will work.

The adapters are $45USD and I just checked USPS postage to Australia is another $64. That is a total of $109USD.

Let me know if you need any other info.
Thanks, Bud
