Change in the Garage

Some of you already know this, but I made the decision several weeks ago to trade the Nomad. I enjoyed the 22,000 miles I rode it but after following Gene (Wanderer) on all the rides this summer at the national rally in Estes Park, I started looking for a Honda Goldwing shortly after returning home from Colorado.

It took awhile, but I finally located a one owner 2008 audio/comfort/navi with only 11,500 miles and 3 years of Honda extended warranty remaining. I traded my beautiful Red/Black 1600 Nomad for the Wing. I just couldn't justify owning two bikes.

Of course, the best part of owning the Nomad is all the great friends I have met and ridden with because of this forum. I have attended rallies in Eureka Springs and Van Buren AR, three in Antlers OK, and the National rally in Estes Park this past summer. I have truly enjoyed each rally and meeting all of you fine people because of the VBA. Like others, I hope I am still welcome on the forum and at the rallies. You all are a GREAT GROUP!

Here is a picture of the new ride:

Congratulations Joe! Very nice looking Wing. If you let the beard grow I won't be able to tell if it's you or Jessie coming.

Congrats Joe!

Welcome to the club!

You need to ride that thing to the VBA Rally in Idaho next July so I can look at it. If you don't mind me asking how much did you need to pay for that great looking machine?

Thanks everyone, I really am enjoying the Goldwing so far. You do sit completely different and it takes a little time to get accustomed to that. Also, the seat has been reworked and is really for someone over 6' 2", which as you all know I am not even in that ballpark. I will probably get it redone in time.

Mitch, you know that Jesse looks much younger than me and you're right Mike no other group will probably take me!

Congratulations Joe! I thought it would be Suzuki Mike that would be getting a Wing. See you at the Mountain View Rally.

I suppose I'll be old enough for a Wing in about 5 years when I retire.

Congrats on the new bike. Wings are a little different and take some getting use to. There are plenty of accessories so start saving the pennies.
