Hello from new Nomad owner in midwest
hello, my name is john, i am new to the forum and new to the nomad... just bought a 2002 nomad 1500 fi, been riding a loooong time, i have had a vn750 for over 20 years and figured it was time to switch it up a bit. i like the new vulcan a lot, nice machine. figured i may as well join and say "hi" rather than lurk.

Welcome from southern NC. I rode a VN800 for several years before upgrading to a 2001 1500 nomad. Great bike.

only rode the nad around the neighborhood and a few miles on the road... crazy spring here in nebraska... been high's in the low 50's... supposed to snow AGAIN thursday...  it should be warm here, at least SOME days... means it's gonna be a smokin' hot summer i suppose...i shot a quick vid the other day, i realize (afterwards) the cam is way too low, next one will be better... my riding buddy has a vn800 it's a good bike too but a damned hard seat! anyways i have been riding for about 40 years, hope to get some good hiway miles on the "new" nad... it's sure a nice ride, i still will prol'y keep one of the vn750's (i have 3) for now... looking forward to making some new buddies, and gathering some info on the beastie... already have a yamaha trunk bought, will get it painted by a friend, to match. looking forwards to many years of travel!! cheers, john

Your bike looks just like my 2003 Nomad did when I bought it. You may want to check with your local Kawasaki dealer to see if your bike had the oil filter recall done to it. If so, you will have to purchase your oil filter kit from the dealer.
