Just have to tell this story!

Ok its saturday nite wifes at work and decided that subway sounded good for supper so I hop on the bike and drive 30 miles to the nearest subway. They have gas pumps setup in front and see 2 harleys parked by one of the stalls so I decide to pull up and do some small talk while filling up some gas. Husband and wife both with harleys I join in with hello hows it going beautiful evening for a ride! As you all know harley people they notice its not a harley and all I got was uhgh. Well I thought screw em' I'm out for a ride not gonna let it bring me down and pull up 20 ft to subways walk in and order. I set down and they park next to my bike. I notice the husband eyeing my bike (not noticing that I am sitting 5 ft from the window and stares it down good for about 10 minutes while I am chowing down watching em'. So I finish and walk out and greet them again like the nice person I am and this guy is in love and wants to know all about this pearl sitting next to his harley's lol So then he wont shut up and it getting dark and had to dart off but just shows how ignorant harley boys are!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for rambling but made my night

With the economy in the state it's in, we're going to see more of these guys finding out that they could've gotten a better bike for a lot less than they paid. He probably went home and looked up information on the Nomad and maybe had a little "buyers remorse"..... that or he's talking to himself and convincing himself that what he bought was worth the price.

Wow Ryan, 30 miles to a Subway. If I didn't have the Nomad, I would never eat out. Nice story though.

I'd have to be near starving to death before I'd ride 30 miles to eat at a Subway. It is a good reason to go for a ride, though.

Great story. At Route 66 Harley in Tulsa, OK there is a great place to eat attached. I love to pull up in front of the Harley store on my Nomad to go eat there. I'm sure it burns a few HD butts. :) Oh, on a funny side story, before I got my Nomad, I was up on there on my 900 Custom, and I was getting off it and some guy walks up all ooooooing and ahhhhhhing and asked "What kinda Harley is that? Its perdy." I just said "A Kawasaki 900 Custom Harley." and walked off. I have little doubt this guy walked into the HD store asking for just that bike. Gotta love it.

Everyone likes the "Harley" look. Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki all do the "Harley" look BETTER than Harley does these days, IMHO. The look of surprise is why I'll never consider removing the Vulcan badges!

Great story ryan.
I never let anyone put a damper on my ride,I always just remind them that "its not what you ride, its that you ride". That's what make the motorcycle community what it is. I have alot of people think my Nomad is a Victory because all they know is it is a nice bike and they see the "V" on the tank. I was getting gas one day while I was in Califonia last winter and a guy in a pckup asked me what kind of bike mine was. When I told him Kawasaki, all he could say was"I didn't know they made a bike like that.It sure is nice and sounds good too." I thanked him and proceded to enjoy the rest of the day.
