Buzz/Rattle in the front

I have a 2016 Voyager and there is annoying buzz/rattle that only occurs at about 2500 RPM. I think it is coming from instrument dials. I put some tape on the dials this am and that seemed to quiet it down. Anyone had this problem? I recall seeing someone talk about putting silicon around the edges. Thoughts?

Check the tank trim where it wraps down over the front of the tank from the ignition switch.

I had the same issue after installing after-market windscreen. It was solved by re-tightening the windscreen screws.

Try putting your hand on the chrome ring around the ignition switch when you hear the buzzing. If it is that causing the buzz I fixed mine by putting a rubber band under the chrome ring.

I put some strips of thin flat foam window/door insulation at several points under the tank trim to eliminate buzzing. Putting pieces where the trim sits at the very front of the tank did the most good on mine.

This is what was causing it on my Vaquero. I stuffed some black foam rubber under that chrome piece and it disappeared. I could have sworn it was coming from the gauges but it wasn't. However, when I installed my audio amp, I went ahead and used sounds deadening sheet in the fairing and that quieted things down even more.

My rattle from 2300 - 2800 rpm was not one but both glove boxes...sounded a whole lot like valves

On my 2009 Voyager I had a rattle which ended up being a loose driving light. From what I remember, the adjusting mechanism had a wing nut which was loose - tightened it up Rattle gone. My 2013 and 14 Voyagers had the buzz on the tank plastichrome.

If you have not removed the plastic ignition switch ring - you will learn several new words. I have found that 2 plastic bondo spreaders (like you would use to spread bondo) worked under each side of the ring and rock it back and forth until you can get your hands on it to pull. Don't use a Screwdriver - it will mar the plastic. Once you get that out you can remove the 2 Hex screws and the nut under the seat to remove the tank trim. It buzzes on the front where it goes down over the front of the tank.
I think I used several strips of 3M door sealer (you don't want the double sided sticky stuff).

I owe everyone on the forum that responded a large thank you. I loosened the tank trim and put some window insulation underneath it...and voila the buzzing went away. I also found some small rubber squares that the factory must have installed there but they were fairly useless in reducing the buzzing noise. What a pleasure to not have that annoying buzzing sound. Thank you.

that, and the plastic tank centerpiece.... $5 for a roll of 1/4" foam insulation at Lowes.

Glad you found it. I had a Nomad before my Voyager so was on here for a couple of years beforehand... I'd read about the tank trim rattle and was half expecting it... But the severity still surprised me - I have no idea how the previous owner of my bike put up with it.

Like everyone else, a couple of judicially placed pieces of sticky-backed foam eliminated that problem immediately. My bike has gone on to have rattles in the cubby doors (fixed with small rubber caps on the posts) in the dials (the whole assembly was coming loose), and in several other places under the fairing. Most everything under there is taped up or zip-tied now, and I still need to go in there occasionally to tighten everything up. I've gotten so good at taking the fairing off I can do it in well under 5 minutes leaving the lowers in place.

This will require Video proof that it can be done. I suggest you do it in an instructional format that we all can learn.

In all the Voyagers and Miles, I've never taken my outer fairing off.
