Pics of my 3-11-08 Ride

Here are some pics I took today on my ride.

Church in Florence NY

This is what they groom snomobile trails with.

This is what the trail looks like after grooming.

Notice the ice hanging on the stone bank.

Just thought this was a cool pic of a stream.

.Did I mention this was what I was riding

Hey it's OK. It won't be long now. Just some of the things we put up with to live here. We just keep it in perspective
No hurricanes or floods or earthquakes or poisonous snakes or tornados........We can put up with a little snow

I'd rather have the poisonous snakes and earthquakes than snow. But, that's just me. Wait, we do have poisonous snakes here and scorpions and coyotes and javelina. Naw, you keep the snow, I'll live dangerously.

Four Wheel Drive GMC No, they aren't as bad as they look in my pics. Some places are bare and some are real slushey. We are used to driving in this stuff. You just can't go as fast as you do the rest of the year.

You only have to wait for the spring thaw to bury your dead...

That is true BD. The ground is frozen. When someone passes they are embalmed, then we have the funeral and the body is taken to the cemetery and put in a building ( don't know the correct name for the building ) till spring.
Then in the spring we have another shorter ceremony when the deceased is buried.
So looking at the bright side, when we die we get two ceremonies for the price of one

That's what happened with Doc Holliday when he died in Glenwood Springs, CO. It was in the dead of winter when he died and they buried him in a shallow grave in a valley until Spring at which time they could bury him at the cemetary at the top of a mountain.

Many say he is still buried there, there is a marker in the town cemetary, but rumors persist that his Father traveled from Georgia, exumed the body and took it back by train to Georgia.

OK, so much for history.

Trip, speaking of old western history, have you ever seen the show "Wild West Tech" on the history channel? That is along the lines of some of their stories. It is pretty interesting.
