ITS A DONE DEAL

After saying it , thinking it , dreaming it and asking alot of questions over the past few months , i ordered my Vance and Hines baggers today. Should have them Monday or Tues. along with new gaskets. Cant wait to hear them.
Think i will start with the baffles minus the insulation packing and go from there.I just hope i never have to have the fuel proccessor.

Well , I dont need any more power than what i have. Dont intend on racing it. Unless my bike runs worse for some reason after changing my pipes then i dont see the point. As long as it runs as good as it does right now , i just dont see spending the money on it. My bike runs really well , not too lean , not too rich. Just right. I have no pinging.

My new V&H's are being delivered today. Thinking about leaving work early and installing them.

I can't wait.

I did it, I left work early so I could wait for the UPS guy. While I waited I ripped off the stock pipes.

The new baggers came and I was so excited to get them on. After about 2 hours I fired it up. Wow, what a difference in sound.

The pipes are deep sounding when idling, they bark very nicely when you crank on the gas. What I liked the most about them was running at high steady speed the pipes have nice even rumble and not abnoxious sound for long trips.

I just wanted pipes too, but my bike didn't run well at all after installing, so I've got a TFI here that I'm instaliing this weekend. I am looking forward to it running better, but hated to part with the money. Good luck with your pipe install.

I haven't needed to add the processors with my V&Hs. Bike runs great and I love the way the Baggers sound.

I was thinking about the Dooleys but all I had to go on was the youtube videos. The V&H had the sound I was looking for.

But, it was a close call

ITS A DONE DEAL

Hi All, My bike has not run great since I bought it used in March 08. It pings even with high octane and the fan comes on a lot in traffic, even in moderate temperatures. The bike also gasps and stumbles when shifting from 1st to 2nd. I almost dropped it once with the wife on the back when it stumbled pulling into traffic from a stop sign. I think it is because the bike is so lean, hence the pinging and excessive heat from the engine. I am not sure why some Nomads seem to be worse than others but mine is one of the bad ones.
My bike is completely stock. I have bought the TFI but not installed it yet as the bike is in storage. I am hoping to improve the "rideability" of the bike, nothing else. If there is a performance gain (and drop in mpg) that is okay if it improves the overall enjoyment of the bike and gets rid of its detractions.

redjay, The "stumbling" issue was the main reason I installed TFI. Like you, I almost dropped mine as well. It cured the stumbling problem, plus solved the lean issue too. Bike runs cooler, more power, better throttle response. What's not to love!
My take on TFI, makes the bike run the way it should have come from the factory.
Good luck with yours.....I think it will help and resolve your issues.
