Question fob

I haven't seen any forms for this so here is my question. is there a way to make the need for a key obsolete, and use a fob like the H.D's. have?

Chucksterscustoms.com, just under $200 shipped. Made from good heavy aluminum. Love mine. Mounts at the handlebars.

thanks, with it mounting at the handle bar will it interfere with a batwing? I'm about to buy a reckless batwing so I just want to make sure.

Chucksters switch is not aluminum it is chrome plated steel as per his site. Does it have a fob that goes in your pocket so that only you can crank the bike? If not its not like the OP was asking. I think Chucksters just repositions the ignition switch.

Chucksters switch is basically the switch off of a Harley Davidson Road King. You can turn the "knob" just as you would a key but without a key. If you flip up the cover (top of the switch), there's a place for a a barrel key. You use that to lock the switch so nobody else can turn it (and therefore start your bike). It's NOT keyless.

So, what's the point of a keyless switch that requires a key, and what's the point of a true keyless switch anyway? Not that a lot of Kawis are stolen, but doesn't not having to use a key make it easier?

He isn't just looking for a keyless ignition switch. He is also asking about the electronic security fob that only allows the bike to start when the fob is within range and sets the security alarm when it's out of range.

Mine IS aluminum!

And I had him leave it unplated, no chrome to rust.

There are aftermarket kits out there to make you bike keyless.

Just do a search on your browser.

ok so in the end it doesn't have the fob function then, do any of you know if someone managed to modify there bike so that they had a fob or should I just go to a junk yard, get one and start tinkering with it?

Like MAS says, there are kits available easily found with the help of Google. I got interested and had a look for some myself... Digital Guard Dawg looks like about as easy as it comes?
