Exhaust Gaskets Question

I bought new exhaust gaskets the other day because I am switching back to the stock exhaust system.

My questions is: Is there something like a glue or sealant I stick these in with or is it just the pressure of the pipes against the engine that holds them tight?

Exhaust Gaskets Question

Just use a small (emphasis on small) dab of bearing grease to hold them into place while you get the pipe bolted in place.

Thanks.
It seems like the factory used something else.

Exhaust Gaskets Question

Normally I get everything lined up without the gasket and just barely start the nuts. Then I tip the pipe out and away at the top a tad and slide the gasket in place. As it drops I push the pipe up tighter and turn the nuts down about 2 turns short of tight. I torque the rest of the clamps and bolts down almost tight, and then tighten the head flanges down just snug tight. I torque all the clamps and bolts to the final torque, and then torque the flanges last, compressing the crush gaskets.
