Newbie to NE area

Just thought I'd say hi.. I just moved into Cherry Hill NJ after living in Anaheim CA for the last 4 years.

I've been here about 5 weeks so far. Taken just one ride, up through PA to Bradford, camped a night and then headed back another route.

Interesting having to ride around all the thunderstorms in this part of the world... didn't have to worry about that too much in CA!

I'd be interested in any tips on the "must-do" rides in the area.. Blue Ridge park way is on my list of course, as is Route 33 through WV that someone told me about.

Hope to catch some of you on a ride here or there.

Regards,
Brian

Brian why the move to New Jersey? You will probably love the first winter and hate it after that.

Take up deer hunting and icefishing, they make fall and winter worth having. ;)

Thanks for the replies.. yes, I'll check out the rally. As for why NJ.. work related. I work for ARAMARK, HQ in is Philly. Whole family looking forward to our first winter... never lived in a cold climate before. I expect after that we'll hate the winters!

I'll certainly need to look into "winterizing" my Nomad.. never worried about that before... In fact some of my best rides in the West were in Jan/Feb. Still can be in the 30s in the mountains nearby, but nice in the deserts.

Planning a ride in a couple of weeks down into VA / WV, riding route 50 and 33. They look pretty good.

B2,

Welcome to the forum. You might be interested in this link:

http://www.motorcycleroads.us/

You can pick where you live or where you are interested in being, and it zooms in and shows roads that were picked by cycle riders that they consider nice rides. It says you can even input the rides into your gps, if you have one.

I have a similiar app on my iPhone, not sure if it is the same website. The app is called Greatest Roads. Works pretty nice and they will both give you ideas.
