The skulls are not my ride, they're for a friend. MY ride I've only owned less than a year and the factory paint is in decent shape already...between that, not having a good place to paint anything, and being super busy with work up until January, there wasn't much motivation to charge in and start changing things.

Now that work has slowed down to a sane level and I'm properly rested I must be feeling a little mischievous. I hope I can get around to my own ride before warmer weather and the heavy work schedule returns. But truthfully there are more important tasks like upgrading clutch spring, adding braided clutch and brake cables, and making a new seat that supersede paint. If my own new paint scheme doesn't happen till next winter that's ok. In the meantime I am still developing it in my head.

Anyway, I just spoke to the painter who was going the pearl and clear on the skulls last night. He says all went well and the tins should go to blocking and buffing soon. I might get a look at them tomorrow and will upload some new pics if I can get some. The real thrill will be seeing the bike reassembled and out in the sunlight where that flip-flop pearl will GO NUTS!

That's an inside joke. I had put my girlfriend's name on my last bike and that didn't work out so well. Bike and girl both gone. New bike is solo only. Muuuch betters!

Sounds like that joke "my girlfriend left me and took my bike, man I'm going to miss that bike"

awesome, nice job. Looks like a 20 year break from airbrushing hasn't hurt your abilities at all.

Thanks for the nice words everyone. Custom painting will never become as big a deal as it once was in my life, that time has passed and I've got too many irons in the fire already, but it sure is energizing to know I can still hack it if I choose to. It gives me encouragement to do something on my own bike eventually. When I get around to finalizing a design and starting the project I'll start a thread on it. It won't be right away, but it won't be 20 years either.

I'm lovin this new 23in SAMSUNG Monitor !

As for the AirCraft "Nose Art" on the Leather Flight/Biker's Jacket..That was done in 2006 (+/- ?) As I recall I had the one "I Rode Mine" Patch on the jacket (Now patches nearing all the way down the sleeve..I had the gal leave a gap..between patch 2012 and patch 2013..as Im going to have one made that say's MAYAN CALENDER END OF TIME 12-20-12... So I can show that I rode my bike to Sturges and other adventures AFTER THE END OF TIME !

I dont wear the jacket much..but always take it along...it's still like new (showing maybe -a bit- of character wear)

The artist was used to working only with bikes..and never had done leather, he didnt get the details of the plane just as I wanted....but it's pretty good after all is said and done !
