Phatrisers

Morning all,

Just finished installing a set of Phatrisers II from Scootworks. Was having neck and shoulder pain in long rides, by putting my hands just behind the grips and steering with my knuckle it would feel better immediatly so I decided to do this.
I was a little woried that the cables and hoses would not rach, but they did just fine.
Just sitting on the bike is much more comfortable, can't wait to try them out. They brought the bars back about 2' and raised them a bit. I was very happy with the fit and finish of them (polished aluminum)

see pics

Still waiting for the snow to melt..........

You will like the way you sit on the bike...They have improved the handling for me....I can keep my weight more center on the bike and countersteer is effortless...

Did you take your shield and headlamp off to install???

terbear,

Looks real good, hope they help you enjoy your nad more. I hope to do mine in the near future.

I noticed your windshield bag or bags. Which brand and how do you like them? Any install problems or clearance problems now that you installed the Phats?

Michael

Answer a few ?'s

Yes, I did remove the headlight and chrome piece in front of the triple tree, made the acess to the bolts very easy, and gave me a chance to clean back there.

The windshield bag is just a cheapie from e-bay about 30 bucks I think. This is a must on any bike, very handy for small items, billfold, keys, sunglasses etc. I will have to raise it an inch or so because the 2 pouches on the end are hard to open now.

My Nomad is a 2007, 7,000 miles. Made it to Sturgis last year--

I won't beable to ride with out them. Best piece of equipment I've put on. Did you run with the center hole or offset one?

offset...center will hit the speedometer bezel on most 05 on up...I say most because these things are not exact copies...there are some pretty big tolerance differences in some parts and how they are mounted. Use the offset, no chance of hitting then.

Are these Phats polished or chromed?

I tinkered with mine moving the bars up and down in the clamps for a couple of weeks until I decided where they are most comfortable. Love those Phats.

They're great! Clearly one of the best mods we can make.

Just ordered a set of Phat II's. Thanks to all of your inputs I finally broke down. It looks like everyone that has them really likes them.
